May 4, 2023 [crocon media – msch, tlei] – XMReality, a provider of remote guidance solutions, is currently participating in a paid pilot project with a central European country’s armed forces branch. The pilot aims to evaluate the effectiveness of XMReality’s remote guidance platform when combined with inspection and maintenance software from a partner, as well as smart glasses, to improve vehicle inspection and maintenance efficiency.
The contract is with the armed forces of a non-NATO DACH-country and involves a local partner that offers maintenance and inspection software with digital work instructions. While digital instructions typically suffice, there are instances where technicians require additional expert assistance. In these cases, XMReality’s remote guidance platform enables technicians to connect with remote experts via live video streaming and receive real-time guidance using Augmented Reality-based features.
Andreas Jonsson, CBDO at XMReality, expressed satisfaction with the company’s software meeting the stringent quality standards demanded by the defense sector. Although the current order for the pilot project is not significant in monetary terms, Jonsson emphasized its importance due to the potential for future opportunities.
